Executive Director

After earning a degree in History  from the University of Montana I retuned home to Kalispell where I have been honored to serve as the director of the Conrad Mansion. I am passionate about preserving the Conrad Mansion and sharing Montana history with the public.

When not at work you can usually find me hiking in the mountains with my husband and hound dogs.

I’m Sorcha (pronounced Sor-sha). I’m from Bozeman and I studied Art History at MSU. I hope to teach guests about the art and architecture of the Conrad Mansion. I love all the clever and functional design additions. My favorite rooms are the Fernery and the Antique Room. Outside of my job, I’m an avid skier and am recently earned my private pilot’s license. I’m so glad I get to work at this cool house. Come say hi!

I wanted to work at the Mansion because I love beautiful old houses. This is a fascinating and fun place to work.

Mansion Docent & Gift Shop Manager

I watched with fascination the renovation of the Conrad Mansion in the 1970s while working at the Conrad bank. Never did I dream that I would be doing tours there after my banking career. It is a beautiful vintage home and fascinating family story to share! I love it!

I’ve been a guide at the Mansion for 9 years now and it never gets old!  There are so many unexpected things to see in addition to the beautiful woodwork, glass, fernery plants, and original furniture. Come and see for yourself sometime soon!

Mansion Docent

I was born a few blocks from the Mansion, grew up in this neighborhood, and with the exception of about ten years, have lived here, walking the same streets and breathing the same air as the Conrads did. I feel like their history, their home and their legacy are woven into the fabric of my life. Sharing their stories with visitors is an honor and a delight.

I am a middle school English teacher during the school year and a docent at the Mansion in the summers. I grew up in the area, and my first time touring the Mansion was on a field trip in the early 80s when I was in elementary school. I fell in love with the Conrad Mansion then, and now my husband and I live in the neighborhood and walk our dog here every day. It is a magical place, and I feel lucky to be able to spend time taking my own students and other guests on tours of this beautiful, historic home.

In a world constantly racing towards the future, we often forget to take a moment to slow down to appreciate the simpler things we have in life. The Conrad Mansion is one of those few special places where we are reminded to always look back upon history with gratitude for its teachings, and inspire us to do our part to ensure that tomorrow brings about with it something unexpected. History isn’t as distant as we think, sometimes it’s right through the front door.

Mansion Docent

I’ve loved working as a docent here at the Conrad Mansion. I’m a history buff with a passion for the history of the place in which I grew up- the beautiful Flathead Valley. This mansion is just full of so much rich history. While the home was always ahead of its time, it’s a fantastic representation of the time period in which the Conrad Family lived and of the legacy they left behind. I plan to be a history teacher after college and giving tours at the Conrad Mansion has been a great way for me to prepare myself to step into that world.
